Beginning Experience of Eastern North Dakota is part of an International, Christian, non-denominational support program for separated, divorced, and widowed people. It is a multi-level and weekend program designed to help grieving, single-again persons transition from the pain of their grief into a new beginning and move into the future with renewed hope. It helps deal with the natural grief process and offers an opportunity with peer ministry, for turning the pain of loss into an experience of positive growth.
The peer ministry for our program is provided by former participants who have decided to give back to others after receiving help with their own grief, anger, and loneliness. They are 'wound healers' - trained men and women who are themselves widowed, separated, or divorced, but further along in the grieving process. Having experienced similar personal losses, our facilitators can relate to the hurt and alienation suffered by those who have lost a partner.
The vision of Beginning Experience is that people who have experienced divorce, separation, or the death of a spouse or partner, will work through their grief, be healed, transformed, and free again to love themselves, others, and God.
